Driver/Operator Academy
A structured path from apparatus driving fundamentals to pumper operations. Learn the concept, perform a station drill, use FireOps Calc to practice the numbers, and finish with randomized practice exams.
Build the engineer from the ground up
The academy is designed to support department training instead of replacing it. Local SOPs, apparatus manufacturer instructions, and current certification skill sheets always control.
Driving & apparatus foundations
Inspection, vehicle dynamics, defensive driving, intersections, backing, spotters, cone course, positioning, safety and mock practical preparation.
Start DO1 →DO2 AcademyPumper & hydraulics operations
Pump theory, hydraulic math, tank-to-hydrant transition, multiple lines, hydrant supply, drafting, relay, standpipe/FDC, foam, troubleshooting and mock pumper practicals.
Start DO2 →More than a study guide
FireOps Calc already has the calculators and training tools. The academy turns them into a sequence a student can actually follow.
Short lessons
Plain-language concepts built around decisions an engineer must make.
Hands-on practice
Every module includes a practical station evolution or checkoff.
Live tools
Hydraulics modules link directly to the PDP, friction-loss, hydrant, relay, drafting and standpipe tools.
Practice exams
Randomized exams and local progress storage help students identify weak areas.
From new driver to pump operator
DO1 Academy
Complete all driving and apparatus modules. Perform a full cone-course mock test and route drive with your department.
DO2 Academy
Work through pump theory and math, then perform progressive water-flow evolutions with an instructor.
Scenario repetition
Use FireOps scenarios, 1410-style evolutions, flashcards and the calculator until the calculations and operating sequence are automatic.
Driver/operator tool belt
PDP Calculator
Build attack lines and calculate pump discharge pressure.
Open →Flashcards
Rapid review of formulas, water supply and pump operations.
Open →Scenarios
Apply pump calculations to visual fireground problems.
Open →1410-Style Drills
Run repeatable company evolutions after the classroom work.
